This March, one of Hong Kong’s most characterful neighbourhoods becomes a stage for contemporary art.
ArtHouse Tai Hang is a new contemporary art festival celebrating an international array of creative talents in the heart of Tai Hang. Curated by Jacky Ho, the festival brings together over 50 artists across 10 exhibiting houses — each one a chapter in an immersive journey through narrow laneways, open spaces, and street corners. Visitors are invited to wander, discover, and connect with the works at their own pace.
William Artists is proud to serve as the Lighting Partner for the festival. Because light and art are inseparable — the right light doesn’t just show a work, it completes it.
A Different Way to Experience Art
ArtHouse Tai Hang isn’t a conventional gallery show. The 10 exhibiting houses unlock a different side of the neighbourhood, each becoming a distinct space for curated exhibitions and site-specific installations. There are no fixed routes and no queues — just an organic, self-guided journey through one of Hong Kong’s most storied communities.
Walk freely through the laneways. Hop in and out of exhibitions. Stop for lunch, see another show, grab a coffee or a beer, and continue the journey. The festival is designed to be experienced the way Tai Hang itself is experienced — on foot, at your own rhythm, with something unexpected around every corner.
Tai Hang is not just a setting — it is where contemporary art meets the soul of a historic community.
50 Artists, One Neighbourhood
The festival challenges the idea that art belongs only behind museum doors. By embedding works into the spaces where people live, eat, and gather, ArtHouse Tai Hang makes art accessible and woven into everyday neighbourhood life. It’s creative placemaking at its most human — art and community shaping each other.
It’s also a platform for local and emerging artists who often go unnoticed. Fifty creatives, one neighbourhood, one week — during Hong Kong’s biggest art moment of the year. Some of the most meaningful art reaches people who never thought it was for them, and that’s exactly the spirit of this festival.
The Role of Light
As Lighting Partner, William Artists brought our craft to the festival’s featured venue — working closely with the curatorial team to ensure every piece was seen as the artist intended. Light shapes how we perceive colour, texture, form, and space. It sets the atmosphere. It draws the eye. In many ways, it’s the invisible collaborator in every work of art.
This partnership is a natural extension of what we do every day: illuminating spaces that matter. From Hong Kong’s most recognised landmarks to an immersive pop-up winding through Tai Hang, the principle is the same — thoughtful light transforms the experience.
