Key Takeaway

FLOS and Michael Anastassiades are strengthening a partnership that already spans more than a decade. A selection of designs from the Anastassiades portfolio will join the FLOS catalogue, pairing his reduced formal language with FLOS manufacturing and distribution. The first three FLOS editions — Tip of the Tongue, Relay, and Frame — launch later this year.

A longer partnership

Anastassiades has designed for FLOS for more than ten years — from IC Lights to Arrangements, String Lights, and architectural pieces such as My Spot. The new agreement takes that collaboration a step further: selected works from his own studio portfolio will now be produced and distributed as FLOS editions, without rewriting their original identity.

FLOS brings technical development, manufacturing, and a global catalogue. Anastassiades brings the designs as they stand — the same tension, geometry, and material discipline that already sit in the FLOS range.

Three FLOS editions first

The first three editions are scheduled later this year.

Edition What it is

Frame Ceiling luminaire, 600 × 600 mm. Warm dimmable glow, 85% down / 15% up. Integrated LED 52 W, 4410 lm, 2700 K, CRI >90. TRIAC, DALI2, or 0/10 V.
Tip of the Tongue

A mouth-blown opaline sphere appears to rest on the edge of a solid polished brass base — a moment of balance that Anastassiades likens to a word just out of reach. Table lamp; H 300 mm. Finishes include 24K gold, black nickel, green, red, blue, and grey. E14 LED (max 8 W); cord dimmer.

Relay

A linear opaline borosilicate glass tube meets a marble block through a magnetic connection — “minimal support,” as the designer puts it. Floor lamp; H 1695 mm. Bases: White Carrara marble, Black Marquina marble, or Basaltina stone. Integrated LED 32 W, 2400 lm, 2400 K; cord dimmer.

Frame

A 600 × 600 mm ceiling luminaire that references the familiar office grid light, and Ellsworth Kelly’s Windows series: strong horizontality, a precise square, dimmable warm glow. Integrated LED 52 W, 4410 lm (85% down / 15% up), 2700 K, CRI >90. Chrome-plated aluminium; TRIAC, DALI2, or 0/10 V.

Together they read as table, floor, and ceiling — three scales, one author.
